Hamburg@work goes Cape Town
Cooperation agreement with the Silicon Cape Initiative

Hamburg@work has extended its international cooperation: The South Africa Festival to mark Hamburg’s 829th Port Anniversary signaled the launch of the cooperation agreement with the Silicon Cape Initiative from the Cape town/ Western Cape Region.
The Silicon Cape Initiative, like Hamburg@work, is a regional network that connects and informs businesses operating in the digital economy, thus promoting digitalization. Together, we plan dialogues and collaboration between businesses from North Germany and the Cape Region. The first action will be a “learning journey” in winter 2018/2019 that will take Hamburg businesses to Cape Town.
Uwe Jens Neumann: “We look forward to the cooperation with the Silicon Cape Initiative prompting intensive knowledge-sharing between our member companies and digital businesses in the South African high-tech region.”
The agreement was signed on 9 May 2018 during the South Africa Economic Forum at the Chamber of Commerce. Supported by Hamburg’s Economic Affairs Senator Frank Horch and the Premier of the Western Cape province Helen Zille, Silicon Cape Initiative Chief Executive Dr. Sumarie Roodt and Uwe Jens Neumann, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Hamburg@work, signed the cooperation agreement.
