Fintech Week 2018: Biggest German industry event starts on 15 October
The Fintech Week in Hamburg, taking place for the third time, connects the established world of finance with financial technology start-ups that aim to revolutionize banking with digital solutions. Under the motto “One week. One city. The best for the future of finance.” the events are taking place from 15 to 20 October: 1,500 players from the fintech and banking sector will meet over networking breakfasts, at a classic conference and in bar camps to discuss pioneering trends and make contacts.
Dr. Reiner Brüggestrat (Vice Chair of Finanzplatz Hamburg e.V. and Chief Executive Officder of Hamburger Volksbank) and Dr. Rolf Strittmatter (Managing Director of Hamburg Marketing GmbH and Director of Hamburg Invest) will launch the Fintech Agency Hamburg on 16 October in the betahaus. The development agency aims to facilitate access to the German and especially the Hamburg market for international fintechs.
One highlight is the one-day FinForward symposium, taking place for the first time and addressing the future of finance. On 18 October, in the coworking space betahaus, the speakers and participants are looking at the major issues for innovation managers at banks and decision-makers at fintechs – whether potential for self-learning algorithms, the regionalism principle or the danger posed by the tech giants Google and Amazon.
